At Relinquish, we offer a compassionate and all-inclusive space where you can feel safe and supported as we explore beliefs around diet culture, beauty standards, and body image.

We aim to empower you to move towards healing your relationship with food and your body. We believe all people are worthy of support, regardless of the level of distress they experience around food or body image.

We provide trauma-informed, client-centred dietetic care, working in collaboration with you so that you direct your own path, with safety always the priority. You know and understand your body best, and our role is to support you to reconnect, listen, and trust it again.

As experienced dietitians, we understand the science of food and nutrition but we will not lecture you about weight or weight loss. Instead, we support lasting behaviour change that improves health outcomes you choose, in ways that respect your lived experience.

We work from a non-diet, Health At Every Size® approach and believe all bodies are worthy of care, kindness, and respect and deserve to be relinquished from food guilt, food rules, and body shame.

Allowing all foods to be equal in their right to nourish you takes away their power

Our Philosophy

At Relinquish, our work is grounded in supporting you to build a more positive and healthful relationship with food, eating, and your body within a safe, compassionate space.

This includes supporting you to:

  • Establish and nurture a more peaceful relationship with food, eating, and your body

  • Reconnect with your internal body cues and better understand hunger and fullness

  • Be present when eating, using mindfulness techniques to increase pleasure and enjoyment

  • Let go of “good” and “bad” food thinking, recognising all foods can nourish

  • Understand diet mentality and conditioned health and beauty standards, and reduce their impact on everyday life

  • Choose a variety of foods across all food groups without restriction, guilt, or food rules

  • Focus on health goals that are clinically meaningful to you (such as cholesterol, blood sugar levels, or hormones)

  • Work on health behaviours, recognising that weight is not a behaviour, but an outcome shaped by complex experiences and trauma

You don’t need to lose weight or be in a smaller body to be healthy, or to live a meaningful and purpose-driven life.
